US music fans can finally purchase Cognitive on iTunes and Spotify. The band is working on getting some tour dates lined up, but nothing is set at the moment. Cognitive is a great, addictive album. I hope Soen makes it to the states soon!

Jerry is out of hospital now but still needs help to pay his bills. I wrote about him as well here - http://ukcomposer.wordpress.com/2012/03/02/jerry-gaskill/ - having seen the band first in 1989. The X are the finest band on the planet, no competition, and I look forward to seeing them again. Oh, and if you like what you hear, then go tell somebody...

Sounds like it was a great time. I just picked up a promo disc from Metal Hammer and Huntress was on it. There was also a story inside about the band. They are pretty intense and Jill certainly has quite a voice. She also appeared in Playboy...might have to look for that issue.

Denver sounds like a great place to see shows. I will be moving to Cheyenne in October...so, I will be able to catch some great tours that pass through Denver. I can't wait. Great review. I bet seeing Alestorm was a blast!

Great review, wish I was there. It's pretty amazing that Christopher Bowes can perform so well completely inebriated, lol. I can't even imagine picking up my guitar whilst drunk, let alone trying to sing and lead a band.
I caught a video for Huntress a month or so ago and what I heard was pretty cool, nice to hear that they have some chops, I'll have to check that record out when it comes out. And for some reason I never listened to Arkona yet, I'll have to fix that
I'm still waiting to catch Turisas on a headlining show out here in Europe, I'm hoping for something this year. Def a do not miss band.

I really like it; it's still pretty new to me to really see how it holds up to their other work. Its definitely a solid album, but as of now, I still think I like their previous albums better. There seemed to be a bit more composition involved, especially in Constitution of Treason and Earthsblood, and less filler. But overall, I think its something to be proud of and something I'm still listening to just about everyday! - Chris
